Believe in Honesty and Truthfulness: in which we can win the respect and confidence of our fellow students and teachers. Believe in a Sound Mind and Body: in which a spirit is contained that is not afraid combined with the gift of true sports- manship. Believe in Obedience to Laws: in which the rights of all of us are protected. Believe in the Human Touch: in which we cultivate the feelings of sympathy, helpfulness, and happiness toward our fellow students and teachers. Believe in Our Country: in which is found a land of freedom and which is our own home. We can best serve that country by “doing justly, with loving mercy, and walking humbly with our God. Because Johnston Junior High School boys and girls believe these things they believe in Johnston and love it.

Dear girl, so many loved her. She was so like a dream. Ideal of ideals, The finest we have seen. To her loving disposition And her gracious attitude We pen this composition As a memorial of gratitude. For all the joy she brought us While she tarried in our midst. And the memories left behind Of the one we'll always miss.
