JOHNSTON HIGH SCHOOL VOLUME VIII AUSTIN. TEXAS I foreword . . . We are looking into a fantastic future which will change so fast that it can hardly be separated from the present. But what about the past? The present rapidly becomes in- tangible memories which are sometimes for- gotten. The years of high school provide many precious nostalgic memories to be held forever. We hope that as you look at your Confederate that you will be reminded of a few of these happy moments. 3 Dedication ln this age of science, of men going to the moon and of heart transplants where the future is so uncertain, students like to feel that someone cares about their future. Although many teachers are concerned about the student's future, there is one faculty member who has been outstanding in influencing the lives of many students. This person is Mr. William Akins. Mr. Akins has a way of showing his sincerity in any job he undertakes. In class, as well as the outside world, he sets a perfect example for any young man or young woman to follow. He is a man of high moral qualities. For these reasons, rhe.Confederate staff proudly presents the 1968 Confederate to Mr. Wllllam Akins. N1 b el rv-,,t3,4f . 'wr- M., ffm?
