Norma, Margaret Laurence, Ruth, Nancy, Sally, Dick and Bob H. adjusted themselves readily tofindergartemand under Miss P:llmer's guidance built their grocery store, played in the doll house, and took naps on their little rugs so faithfully, that at the end of the year they were promoted to first grade. First grade--Margaret beamed when she saw pretty Miss George, and re- solved to get rid of her bad habits. First-graders joined with the second- graders and took first place in the rhythm band. Second grade--Finally the burden of our class was shifted to Miss Fitz- simmon's shoulders. By this time we could all read comic books. To add to the class, a little cherub joined up--Betty Olsasky. It was our class that started the chain stores of A Q P. They started from our small store in the second grade. Third grade--Now we really climbed the ladder--we had reached second floor. Miss Lang thought she taught us our multiplication table. Mrs. Varner disillusioned us shortly after we enrolled for Business Arithmetic. Fourth grade--Nancy Hummel couldn't resist our class so she returned to help us make Miss Douglas happy. We also picked up Shirley D., Gene, and Marvin. Betty felt she needed a rest from this class so she left us for a while o Fifth grade--Bob L. and Shirley 0. joined our fighting forces. Betty also rejoined us. Instead of flying saucers being popular with the boys, flying paper wads were more popular. This soon ended with a punishment of filling quart Jars with chewing wads. While the boys were busy filling their quart Jars, the girls made castles. It was Larry who helped us put over our Mexican Festival by bringing sombreros and Mexican clothing.
