In English Students Study One of the most important programs at J C T S this year, and for many years, has been that of the English Department As universities and business corporations have pleaded con stantly for more and better English instruction, the English Department, has responded nobly This department embraces the school's largest single body of teachers. -..srl As students begin freshman year they quickly taught the study of grammar, which helped them in preparation for other assign- ments. At this time they also begin their study of the classics. Sophomores and juniors, who are yet undecided about future plans, adjust themselves to regular English classes consisting of workbooks, classics, and themes. For those who are headed for college the College Preparatory classes are choice. Here stu- dents cover more ground and do more outside projects. Mrs. Virginia B.
