further to see Robert. Robert had just started his business but he was doing as well as could be expected for a beginner. Robert told me that I could find Edward Blackmon at the Royster Foundation for legal monopolies as the head accountant in Las Vegas. Boarding the plane for Las Vegas and finding my seat was no trouble at all. But who do you suppose I sat beside? None other than actor, David Dew. David and Italked all the way to Las Vegas and he gave me two complimentary tickets to his Broadway show that was premiering on the l2th of June. I finally arrived at my destination and went quickly to the Royster Foundation. When I entered, I was shocked, for the re- ceptionist was Louella Lewis. Louella led me to the next door and there I saw Ruby Barbour, Joyce George, Julia Watson, Elizabeth Hooks, Lucy McCullers and Lucy Sanders as typists. Louella then directed me to Edward's office. Edward was indeed surprised to see me for it had been too long since we had seen each other. So, leaving Evelyn and Jean, I walked down to the exclusive restaurant-motel. The girls were busy in the kitchen and I did not prolong my visit. Walking down James Street in Las Vagas, I passed an interesting beauty salon, SOUTHERN BEAUTY SALON. Realizing that the heat had caused my curls to droop, I decided to enter. Upon entering, I was amazed because before my very eyes stood Bettie Williams, Rox.ie Barbour and Geneva Holder. Geneva gave me a lovely style and I told her who I had seen on my journey and that now I was ready to return to New York. Boarding the plane from California, I found out that Clyde Lucas and Lawrence Winston were in charge. Imagine my life in Clyde and Lavvrence's hands! ! ! After taking my seat, I noticed that there were at least twenty men around me. Being as inquisitive as I am, I asked a young man what was going on and to my reply, he told me that the U.S. Sociology Association was having its annual meeting in New York. Reclining in my seat, I watched the men enter and to my sur- 23
