CLASS HI TORY The class officers were: David Avery, President, William Bradley, Financial Secretary, Edward Watson, Vice President, and Charlotte Saunders, Recording Secretary. Mrs. Barfield, a new member of our faculty, Mr. Wall, and Mr. Dublin were our advisors. As you know everything did not go as we wished for it. We had bad and good ties. The year of 1958 was the first time we had at our school a Parent-Teacher Student Conference which was held October 20, 1958. Theme: The relationship between the parent, teacher, and student in the total educational development of the child. There were many parents participating and attending the program, Our first Holiday was Thanksgiving which we had about five out of school. Everyone returned to school laughing and talking about the different enjoyments they had over the holi- day period. And now the student finally got back into working condition before the Christmas vacation came. Another exciting day was the pictures which were taken for the yearbook. Many pro- grams, and plays were planned for the year. All of these were a success. The rings were scheduled to be here on January 15, 1959. A great surprise was held for us because of the snow which was a long vacation before Christmas, We had approximately three weeks out for Christmas unexpectedly. Everyone was glad to get out for the needed rest. School reopened the 29th of December, The New Year was planned with Senior Parent Banquet, May 265 Class Night, May 28thg Baccalaureate Exercises, May 31g and dear ole Commencement Day, June 4, 1959. By the expressions on the seniors of the Johnston County Training School, we hate to leave our many, many friends, our beloved principal, faculty, and classmates, No matter where we go or where we be, we will never forget our beloved school.
