We dedicate our expression of gratitude to one of our beloved teachers who retired from service at the Johnston County Training School in 1953. Miss Bennie A. Grice was born in Johnston County, North Carolina. She received her public school education in Johnston County. Shie is a graduate of Fayetteville State Teachers College and has done extensive study during summer sessions. Her interest is shown in youth not only in the classroom but on the street, on the play grounds, in Sunday School, Church and wherever a word of encouragement is needed. To one whom we hold in high esteem, To one whom we sincerely respect, To one whom we have always found ready to help us, and guide us in our problems, We proudly dedicate this edition of the Hawk to. . .Miss Bennie A. Seniors, as you complete this second phase ofyour scholastic work and become a High School Graduate, you will be faced with another important decision, and whatever course you take, must be determined by a consideration of sev- eral factors, Whether you go on to further study, go to work, or do nothing, will depend on you. The decision will be yours to make, It is naturalfor your parents, sponsors, and friends to hope that you may find it convenient to continue in schoolg but their fondest hopes will follow you in whatever you accept for yourself, so long as it is honorable. If you have the will and determination, even though you may not have much money, a way will be opened for you. Therefore, don't give up until you have tried every source, and even then, be ,willing to try again, if at first you are not successful.
