A HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS! As a joint class project this past Christmas, the Retail Floriculture and F ' oodservice Specialist students took over the Smithfield Woman’s Club facility and turned it into a “Holiday House!” Hundreds visited this “Christmas wonderland’ open house to sample sumptuous selections of refreshments prepared and served by Foodservice students, and to view a floral phenomenon of elegant decorations created by the Floriculture folks using native Johnston County greenery, apples, pineapples, lemons, limes, cranberries, carnations, roses, burgundy satin ribbons, lace, cinnamon sticks, candles and religious items from the collection of Bennett Barnes, Floriculture instructor. Foodservice students participating in the project were: Gail Pope, Rose Peedin, Paulette Bryant, Brenda Braswell, Evelyn Johnson, Shelia Newkirk, Louise X ' anHoy, Christine Thompson, Wendy Gardner and Dorothy Johnson. Their instructor is Sederis Strickland. Floriculture students of Bennett Barnes participating were: Judith Allen, Kimberly Anderson, Karen Barbour, Sudimal Boese, Jeff Foy, Lois Foy, Paulette Franks, IDoris Grissett, Nancy Hockaday, Pegg ' Jernigan, Sherry Lane, Peggy Jordan, Jearanie Rhyne, Gail Schliebener, and Annette Woods. 9
