et your shoes shined in the Bowery! Times Square at night Typical New Yorkers! ! Class Of I955’s Trip To New York Statue of Liberty A glorious day for the Johnson-St. Paris seniors was Wednesday, April 20, 1955. This was the day we left for New York to spend four wonderful days in the big city. We arrived Thursday morning 8:30 A.M. From the station we went to the Taft Hotel where we stayed while we were in New York. We had a tight schedule with many things to see. Among the many things we did were: A three hour cruise around Manhattan, a bus tour of Upper and Lower Manhattan, a guided tour of Rockefeller Center, a visit to Radio City Music Hall, a visit to the U.N. Building, and a view of the city from the Empire State Building. The boys, of course, saw the N.Y. Giants defeat the Brooklyn Dodgers 5 to 4 at Ebbets Field, while the girls saw a Broadway musical called Plain and Fancy.” A wonderful time was had by all.!!!
