Homecoming ”55” The most beautiful night of the year fell upon February 4. 1955. Although outside it was cold and wintry, within the Johnson-St. Paris gymnasium there blossomed five beautiful flowers. This was the night our Homecoming Queen and her Court reigned over our last basketball game of the season. The Court consisted of: Sally Baker, a senior, escorted by Joe Fergus, a junior; Linda Ginn, a jun- ior, escorted by Louis Jones, a junior; Rita Long, a senior, escorted by Jimmy Wren, a senior Judie Wil- liams, a junior, escorted by Bill Poling, a junior. Her Majesty the Queen, Carolyn Rushaw, a senior was escorted by Ronnie Allebach, a junior. Crown bearer, Pamela Daiken escorted by Andy Hoes. The girls wore lovely pastel colored dresses of pink, aqua, blue, and white; the boys wore ties and tails . The Johnson-St. Paris Band had the honor of bring- ing in this Court. The Band played Sweetheart of Sigma Chi . This night was not only beautifulbut very victor- ious, for the Salem Tigers bowed to our Tigers 98 to 50. After the game a dance was given in honor of the Queen and to celebrate our victory.
