Page 96 Student Life noM Life for a student at J-B is never routine ... each is his own individual as well as part of a group. Students discover things about themselves continuously ... such as the nervous-eyed Freshmen, confused and anxious to do well and learn the ropes ... and then there's the wide-awake student who waited fifteen minutes for his bus — on a holiday. You can always count on the class clown, ready to liven up a dull course with his dry sense of humor or the student that seems to pass without trying. In the winter, a common scene is a large huddle around the heater, refueling to make it through the chilly afternoon. There's always the time when you are in the middle of your speech and the fire bell rings or the long night making you sleepy the next day in school with a possible eraser flying your way. These are just a few of the moments we remember that make our days at J-B special. (1) Kent Gerking looks on while Mr. Snyder is taken by a surprise picture. (2) David Wagner caught in one of his few serious moments. (3) Henry ... J-B's most studious student. (4) The doors of the school open for another day at J-B. (1) A students best friend, Wilma Wagner. (2) Dale Piper displays the downs of school life. (3) If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far a- way. -Thoreau, WALDEN (4) The cheerleaders escort the bonfire in- dian to its burial grounds. (5) Ano- ther day begins with a long bus ride. STUDENT LIFE 3 (1) Saturday Night? Just a min- ute, let me check my social cal- endar. (2) Lori Remmers, Donna Jeanneret, and Angie Beason catch a bite to eat in the cafeteria. (3) The American Literature class holds their every other Thursday Afternoon Ladies Aid Meeting. (4) J-B's 1 player as seen by Russ Eitzmann. (5) Mr. John Schultz gives Todd LaVigne some pointers during shop. 4 STUDENT LIFE 'i (1) Kim Lunzmann takes a Pepsi break. (2) Mary Lou Rademacher and Beth Bidne discuss student life layouts for the EAGLE yearbook. (B)Todda Simpson, Henry and Steve Grube get down to the busi- ness of studying. (4) Roger Wolken develops his muscles (and tan) at the Auburn Invitational cross coun- try meet. (5) Leslie Boellstorff show true enthusiasm at the regu- lar Tuesday afternoon annual staff meetings. 6 STUDENT LIFE Seniors (1) Mary Lyn Alberts, (2) Cynthia Alexander, (3) Beth Bidnc, (4) Linda Blindc (5) Ann Bohling (6) F.lyse Bohling (7) Joyce Bohling 8 SENIORS 'V 8 • (1) Scott Brakhahn, (2) Rex Brod, (3) Cynthia Buss, (4) Ellen Died- riclisen (5) Terry Dirksen. Some of the new things Junior, as he liked to be called, experienced were: seeing snow for the first time, going ice skating, watching cheerleaders dance at games, and going to school in the afternoon. Junior liked going to basketball games, but missed soccer and boy's volley- ball. His favorite classes have been chemistry and shop and would like to put what he's learned in those classes to use in studying to be an electrical engineer someday. Randy Pryor and Buzz Rafferty, two aspiring advertising tycoons, have chosen to bring Etta Dean, a shy awkward motherless girl to the prom. Etta has been brought up so strictly by her grandmother that she is known to the high school wolf pack as Little Miss Prune Puss. Randy's reason for inviting Etta is to influence her father, Christopher Dean, who owns an advertising agency in New York City. Secretly, Pryor and Rafferty contract Mr. Dean to prove their ability by merchandising poor Etta as the The Divine Flora. ACTIVITIES 93 will never be the same again, or with the passing of time each of us will change. Our lives will take new direction and meaning. But through this annual we remember the image of this moment in time. A time when we laughed for no special reason, or cried when things didn't look the brightest. A time to express the ideas and feelings which raced daily through our minds. But now it's time to remember Yesterday - for it is the key to our past, To live Today - to its fullest capacity, and to work for tomorrow - for it's the door to our future. (1) Sandy Rogge, Jayne Wagner, Linda Grotrian, and Susan Bohling look like they're right out of the fifties. (2) Here is the new jani- tor, Dan Rippe. (3) Is Dennis Bidne shorter than a door? (4) The J-B trophy case now boasts eight new trophies added this year. 94 STUDENT LIFE Today I will take time to remember yesterday, now seemingly distant and faraway. Today I will take time to esperience the present, ignoring the ugly, savoring the pleasant. Today I will take time to prepare for tomorrow, to face the pain, anguish and sorrow. Tonight I will take time to free myself through peaceful bliss, forgetting what will tomorrow be amiss. Tomorrow I will take time to awake anew, emerging amidst the morning dew. -Kevin Harshaw SENIORS Alberi Mary Lvn-8 14. 4 4K. 49. ML 52. 51. 4. 59. 71.89. 9;. 3 Alexander.
