COUNTDOWN FOR THE CLASS OF 59 The class of 42 potentual mlssrle experts had lust allghted from a let transport at the John son Creek Provmg Grounds on September 2 1955 They were greeted by therr advlsors for the year Mrs Punzel and Mr Mlchelson Thenr ensulng task us to be the development of a four stage mnssule Stage Number One Frosh Our chlef of mlsslle development for the novice year was Judy Hartwlg aided by Roland Wushowskl Jean Messerschmldt Carolyn Staude Sandra Buss and Lance Messmer The flrst construction of the Frosh was the Homecoming Parade entrance of our float Creek Wull Be a Good Sport Mllton Union We Il Deport During the course of the year our crew of mlsslle experts dwindled wlth the departure of Alexander Zubrod Roger Schroeder Gloria Rabuck Dale Blanke and Albert Olson A scaen tlst gained was Sandra Stevenson Funds for the development of the remaunlng three mlsslle stages were roused by partlcnpatlng In the magazine campaign having ple sales and running concessions for football and basket ball games Stage Number Two Soph Schoeberle and Mr Wlsnefskl Our crew of 36 again led by Judy Hartwlg suffered the loss of Carol Inwood John Strelch Mary Topel and Jerome Keeser but galned by the registering of Jean Reynolds Capable assnstants were Roger Reichert Roland Wlshowsku Carolyn Staude Jean Messerschmldt and Sandra Buss Flrst development on the Soph was completed with the entrance In the Homecoming Parade of our float Johnson Creek Wall Take Its Toll Oregon Will Rock and Roll Our crew was sorry to receive the resignation of two experlmenters during the year namely Marvln Hull and Melvun Slmonds The year closed most happily with the required procedure of ordering our class rings Stage Number Three Junnor The fmol power stage of Junior level was started and flnlshed most zealously A mlsslle crew of 33 members returned with the loss of Dawn Pollnskl and Kenneth Kloss but wlth the regaining of Alexander Zubrod Our advanced work on the mrsslle was directed and guided on the road to success by Mrs Odland Mr Kautza and Mr Fronk Leadlng mlssnle sclentlst of the year was Carolyn Staude she was assisted by Roger Reichert Roland Wlshowskl Judy Hartwag Janet Zastrow and Chris Thomas 'IO 9 I . . .
