and best The theme Make Bel1eve was chosen w1th Marvln Moldenhauer and Mar1lyn Knaack headlng as k1ng and queen The corners and walls were de corated w1th l1fe l1ke storybook characters and the colors blue and wh1te were used for the false cellmg and s1de decoratlons The punch stand Was huge pumpkm coach and a beaut1ful s1lver star was hung from the center of the ce1l1ng D1fferent colored spotl1ghts accentuated the h1ghl1ghts of the prom and the smooth mus1c of J1mmy Hartw1g added the f1n1sh1ng glow1ng touch to the blggest prom ever held 1n J C A post prom party was held at the Muslc Box and everyone attend1ng the prom was 1nv1ted up to another decorated enchantnment to dance unt1l 3 O0 A M To add the f1nal touch to th1s Wonderful year we t1ed Wlth the sen1ors for the Sp1r1t Cup We aga1n had to look to the loss of f1ve more members Sherman Allen Sh1rley Brown Sh1rley Kell1ng Helen Draeger and Arnold F1SCh6T Our adv1sors Mr Ch1tWood Mr Kautza and Mr Sunby helped us over the b1g humps The b1g guns wh1ch helped make the Junlor Class of '53 so successful were Dave Rowlands Torn Mew1s Joyce Kellmg Merl1n Pfe1fer and Carr1e Henderson We were soon stand1ng on the threshold of our last year after three seem lngly short years Russell Otto was no longer w1th us so We walked through Aga1n we worked t1relessly to w1n the magaz1ne campa1gn and second pr1ze 1n the Homecomlng Parade w1th the unusual float De st1nat1on V1ctory T ra1se more money bracelets Wlth J C letterlng on them were sold The Homecom1ng Dance was a b1g event Wlth John Hartw1g and Rose S1:uedl1 re1gn1ng as k1ng and queen J1mmy Hartw1g aga1n furn1shed the muslc The b1g wheels of our Sen1or Class of '54 are Dave Rowlands Ronald K11ngbe1l Joyce Kelllng Kathryn Koser and Merl1n Pfe1fer The adv1sors Mrs Odland and Mrs Punzel deserve recogn1t1on for th 1r efforts and hard work We w1ll leave J C as we entered a group full of hope ant1c1pat1on and wonder of what 1S to come As we take our places 1n the world we w1ll look back to our four years 1n J C Hlgh recal11ng the many happy memor1es we have shared together Our walk through l1fe w1ll always reflect back on those 1nd1v1dual memorles we forever Wlll carry as members of the Class o CLASS OF '54 Colors Blue and Wh1te Flower Whlte Carnatlon Motto The Past forever gone the Future stxll our own 9 . ll ' ll ' ' . . . . u a the doors of J.
