I Y .2 if I Q Q63 If fglf' 1 W .E 5 Jig me A em 0I'L Q6 ce 'lm' awe LJ When September rolled around 1n 1951 f1fty four green freshmen walked through the doors of J C Hxgh the1r eyes f1l1ed w1th wonder and ant1c1pat1on of what was to come They soon lost the1r shyness and lack of conf1dence for they became part of those who were happy and busy W1th the1r many act1v1t1es A freshman dance was held to get the members of the class better acqua1nted and everyone had a wonderful t1me The more well known members of the class were Charles Oestre1ch Carolyn Neuman Mar1lyn Knaack Jean Staude L1las Wltte and Yvonne Zastrow Mrs Kraby and Mr B1ttner were our able adv1sors and through them we came to reahze our four years at J C H1gh would be ones of hard work and long hours but so Jam packed full of fun and aCt1V1t1eS we would never forget them We entered our second year a somewhat d1fferent class w1th the loss of Jennme Meyers Harvey Baumann Chuck Oestre1ch and Lauretta Kreldermann but we also added some new members Carr1e Henderson Valer1e Fuerbr1nger and Russell Otto Th1s was the beg1nn1ng of three successful years Our float ' We'll Stop 'Em Cold won f1rst pr1ze 1n the Homecom1ng Parade and w1th a few con cess1on stands at the games we began to bu1ld up our treasury fund Our adv1sors Mrs Kraby and Mr Brandt and enthus1ast1c leaders Dave Row lands Kathryn Koser Joyce Kell1ng Carr1e Henderson Ronald Kl1ngbe1l and Merlln Pfe1fer helped g1ve us a class sp1r1t wh1ch grew stronger w1th each year The order1ng of class r1ngs drew to a close a happy and well rounded year More members had left us durlng the year Robert Bartz Jean Buske, Gordon Genz, Sally Krause, Bob Nelson and Dor1s Schroeder. The b1g year came all to soon We were f1na1ly Junlors, wh1ch meant we had a lot to do to make lt the except1onally successful year we wanted lt to be. St1ll more members had dec1ded to leave us They were Patr1c1a Bretzman, Carolyn Neuman and Elsa Luebke. Robert Schnelder entered 1n t1me to enjoy many of the eventful act1v1t1es We started off w1th a b1g bang, w1nn1ng the magazxne campa1gn and aga1n f1rst pr1ze for the float, We're Expectmg V1ctory, 1n the Homecomlng Parade Our class r1ngs came, so now we could really acknowledge ourselves as members of J. C.
