AS THE WHEEL TURNS qCOHt1Du6dJ We have entered our homecoming float Let s Put Waunakee Thru the Wringer and won first prize One of our spokes is getting places fast Bette Lee Stoltenburg has won first place in serious declamation division Our next trip will be thrilling and adventurous as we have many things to look for ward to On Sept 7 1948 we have ZZ spokes in our wheel Rosemary Krause and Patricia Blety have Joined us Mr Thayer and Mrs Hrnjak will advise us this time and our big spokes are Bette Lee Stoltenburg Shirley Altreuter Mike Higgins Doris Zastrow and Allen Boettcher Another turn of the wheel found us on the entertainment route this time by presenting our Jr Class Play The name of it is Too Sweet For Sixteen It IS a comedy After putting on our play we are very proud that it turned out to be such a great success The wheel again turned for us and we were busy polishing the pebbles for our Jr Prom We set the date for April 30 and Bud Breitkreutz will furnish the music Our picket fence and tulips of every color As a punch stand we will have a huge windxnill Our group elects John Lund to reign as King and he chooses Mary Quest as his Queen Crown bearers will be Tommy Snyder and Carol Quest The fancy spokes in the court of honor will be as follows Joyce Last and Allen Boettcher Betty Klockow and Mike Hig g1ns Shirley Altreuter and Jon Fisher Rosemary Krause and Marvin Schuld In October our wheel took on a touch of glitter when we received our class rings A we come to the end of this year we are feeling tired and weary but our wheel still needs no repair It has come to our last year in old J C High We have traveledfar and learned many things This year we have a Senior Class Play to look forward to Our big spokes are still on the Job Bette Lee Stoltenburg Shirley Altreuter Arletta Genz Ralph Uttech Mike Higgins and Pat Blety Our guides are now Mr Chitwood and Miss Tobler Joyce Last and Arlene Olstad have left us There are now 22 spokes 1n the wheel We are working hard on our annual and have decided on a padded cover with less pages Our Journey is Just about at an end even though it is we will still keep traveling on our road of progress In later years we will remember our high school days and much of our credit for achievement will go to the days of our youth which we have spent here to gether in our own J C High By Mary Quest 12 theme will be 'In a Little Dutch Gardenn.
