OM I ' asia JI NIOR CI ASS HISTORX In the fall of 1923 the Class of 27 entered the klngdom of J C H S wh1ch had been under the despotlc relgn of Klng W1ll1am I for the past two years They were emlgrants from the elghth grade and the government of J C H S bemg so much dlfferent from that of the Grade School thev found It dlfflcult to adapt themselves to the 1ule of Kmg Wllllam and hxs provlncxal rulers the faculty On the flrst mornlng the emlgrants were met at the gate by an army of the AFlSt0CFatS of the realm armed w1th br1ck bats shovel han dles and rubber hose who at once proceeded to dlscourage these forelgners IH thelr attempt to enter the monarchy However the Class of 27 belng very perslstent succeeded after two days of terrlble persecutlon IH galn 1ng recogmtlon and were allowed to enter as the vassals of the kxngdom SINCE they d1sl1ked th1s servlle state they at once began an attempt to gam a hxgher pos1t1on Although th1s would take them three or four years they set to work w1th the greatest determmatlon They worked especlally hard fox the flrst semester partlv through a des1re to show the other sub jects thelr ab1l1ty but malnly because of the1r lntense fear of King Wxllxam and h1s Lords It belng the custom for each class to elect three noblemen the Presldent V1ce Presldent and Secretary and Treasurer to manage the affaxrs of the class the Class of 27 called a meetlng at wh1ch they chose Kenneth Twmg LEWIS Brock and Lola Yarborough to fill these respectxve offlces In the latter part of October the vassals entertamed the AF1St0 crats at a Hallowe en festlval and ball and even these dxgnlfled people were forced to admlt that they had been royallv regaled That year two of the new subjects Wlllard Stevenson and LEWIS Brock galned posltlons ln the basket ball army and fought bravely IH every encounter Upon the return of the Class to J C H S 1n September of the next year Klng W1ll1am I rewarded them for thelr supreme efforts and good behavlor 1n his domaln the prevlous year by conferrlng upon them the t1tle of Sophomores Lewls Brock and Wlllard Stevenson were glven 1m portant places ln the football squadron as well as IH the reglment of basket ball players Soon after Chrlstmas the Class entertamed the entlre popu lace of the crown at a Masked Ball wh1ch was the crownlng event of the season The Class agaln returned to the Monarchy 1n the fall of '25 and thls tlme they were awarded the more honorable tltle of Jun1ors. No longer were they vassals, but were now gradually takmg the chalrs of the Arlstocrats They were well represented on both the basket ball team and the football squad, Lewls Brock bemg captaln of both In March, the Class produced and presented one of the best plays, Noth1ng But the Truth, that has ever been presented bv any sectlon of the Klngdom. Th1s presentatlon was made 1n three weeks, a feat wh1ch has never before been accomplished 1n the hlstory of the Klngdom of J. C. H. S At present they are maklng preparations for one of the most str1k1ng and luxurlous J umor Semor Festlvals that has ever before been given by a J unlor Class. O.
