Smith University has announced a 10-year, $20-million capital funds campaign. The local campaign will seek $300,000 in endowment for faculty salaries and scholarships, $700,000 for a student health center, and $1 million for an instructional facility in humanities. The Center for Humanities and the Arts will house programs in communication, music, art, drama, literature, religion and philosophy, and will provide studio, gallery, exhibition and rehearsal space. An auditorium for the perform- ing arts, seating 1,600, will be added later for concert, theatrical and speaking purposes.
