Smith University was con- stitutionalized and chartered prior to the founding of our Univer- sity, on March 17, 1866. The Board of Trustees has always been con- sidered an organization which provides leadership, guidance and a unique air of pride and togetherness to the atmosphere of our in- stitution. These men and women that have agreed to serve in the complex capacity as a member of the Board of Trustees have also agreed to serve us in our individual roles of life as we go stepping into tomorrow .
