Sliannon, a junior elementary education major, is from Pon- tiac. Michigan. Besides being the official hostess of the Univer- sity, she holds membership in the Student Christian Associa- tion, Community Relations Committee and Ron Davis Dancers. Shannon also writes articles for the University Stu- dent and has been selected to appear in the 1970 publication of Who ' s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Shannon ' s warmth, interest and genuine concern for people is seen in her involvement with the community as a recreational counselor at the First Presbyterian Church and with the SCA Big Brother and Big Sister Project. Her hobbies Include inter- pretive dancing. Roller Skating and watching T.V. An outspoken and frank Black young woman, she is sincerely concerned with other Blacks as can be seen in her activities in the Charlotte community and on campus. Her enjoyment with children has led her to pursue a career in elementary education where she will be in constant contact with them.
