RUFUS PATERSOX PERRY PRESIDENT A MESSAGE TO THE STUDENTS March 31, 1958 The 1958 BULL is not only a record ol our current year, it seeks to tell the story of a commu- nity of earnest, thoughtful people, and of the intellectual developments of youth within a framework of Christian principles Thus we want it known that Johnson C. Smith University is a place, an atmosphere and a tradition in Christian Higher Education. We want it to remain a place where the freedom to teach and to learn arc carefully maintained. We want it to continue to grow stronger in intellectual achievement and in moral atmosphere.
