Text from Pages 1 - 48 of the 1958 volume:

We, the Staff of the 1958 Wildcat, take great pleasure in dedicating this annual to Mrs. Cox, who has long rendered her services to the teaching profession. Her sympathetic un- derstanding and fairness have endeared her to the students of Johnson Bayou High and to the surrounding community. Dear Students: An annual serves as a record of past ac- complishments. It is a book of memories. As such, it does not reflect the true temper of the nation and world democracy that we hold so dear in facing a severe test at home and abroad. Many of the values your school has tried to impart become increasingly more important. As you take your place in the world, re- member that the most vital component part of democracy is human relations - respect- ing the dignity and the integrity of the in- dividual and the group. May your future be so planned and man- aged that the important experiences of your life will bring you both honor and satisfac- tion. Sincerely yours, Dean E.
