Day is done Gone the sun From the lake, from the hills, from the sky All is well Safely rest God is nigh. Yes, the day is done and so is the year, the last for the graduating class of 73. This school year, 1972-73, was filled with many firsts: the first Miss John T. Hoggard, the first co-presidency in the junior class, the first and then the second major snowfall in years, the first joint Baccalaureate Vespers Service of Hoggard and New Hanover at Legion Stadium, and the first year of the rest of many. It saw the good as well as the bad; the hard as well as the easy; the fun as well as the serious. As is the tradition, the yearbook staff has tried to capture this year in the 1973 SAGA, but it is hard to express feelings in pictures and words. It is our wish that you have many beautiful memories of this year for the “threshold of your dream.” 261
