SOCCER Hoggard had a soccer team for the first time this year. The inexperienced Hoggard footmen finished the regular season with an even 3-3-| record. Two wins came over Southeastern Community College and the other win came over Camp Lejeune. The tournament took place at the UNC-W field where we beat Camp LeJeune in the opening round and tied New Hanover in the championship. New Hanover was awarded the victory on corner kicks 3-2. In what was expected to be a building campaign, the Vikings surprised most onlookers by firmly establishing themselves in soccer circles against favored and more experienced opponents.
