Hoggard High School is completing its fourth year in service to the youth of New Hanover County. Our school is more than a building; it is all of us—faculty and students. The professional staff consists of | 12 members with C. D. Gurganus as the principal and head administrator. There are one associate and four assistant principals, four guidance counselors, and 103 teachers in the academic and vocational fields. Several teachers have been added to the faculty personnel this year: Johnny Willie Barnes, Mrs. Marjorie B. Mullinix, Mrs. Barbara B. Rehder, Michael A. Butters, Mrs. Edna B. Novak, and David W. James. The student body enrollment has been approximately 2300, but the senior class lost a member, Gib Stevenson Corbett, who died on February 6, 1971. = — =
