Hoggard’s 1970 track team is better than ever, with an increase of 12 members over last year’s squad, bringing the total roster to 29. Coach Matt Fisher noted that a few of the boys have been on the team for three years and that several have returned from last year, along with the usual new faces. A tie with New Hanover in the first meet, coupled with Tim Atwood’s new records in the 100-yard dash, brought joy to the Viking field squad. Other meets included Fayetteville Ross, Terry Sanford, and Jacksonville. Hoggard will be eligible for the Division meets, the Eastern 4A meet, and State track and field events. First Row: B.
