STENNIS (CVN 74), bound for a six- month deployment to countries halfway around the world. It was a sad. but proud day for the men and women who trained for months for this. It was time to go, but with the reassurance that friends and loved ones would keep the home fires burning. For many, this deployment would be their first experience away from home. For others, the cruise would mark their last.
