Homecoming King: It s about time For the first time, Reagan elected a Homecoming King along with the Queen. The girls on the council insisted that it was about time to have a king and they convinced the rest of the council. What started out to be a silly suggestion has now become a part of a new tradition for Reagan, I ' m sure, stated Mitchell Young, Student Council president. Elliott Hill and Beth Benge were crown- ed King and Queen at the Homecoming game against Travis, November 6. The council helped with the Jerry Lewis Telethon Labor Day weekend and the Special Olympics in the spring. We work- ed with the frisbee toss, directed traffic and helped with the awards. It was really a lot of fun, Beth Benge said about the Special Olympics. The council members also replaced and painted the letters of the school song in the large gym. At the end of the year the coun- cil sold t-shirts with senior signatures on them. It ' s quite a thrill to organize and plan with such a great group, stated Mitchell. It was a lot of fun.
