31 Scholars join Select NHS Elites Chosen on scholarship, leadership, serv- ice and character, twelve seniors and nine- teen juniors were selected to join the other members of the National Honor Society. Initiation ceremonies were held in Novem- ber. Along with a Christmas party for the old folks home and a weekend trip to Galves- ton, the main purpose of the National Honor Society was to conduct a tutoring service for students on campus. With the help of the counselors and the interest of the society members, they were able to help more students in more fields. The co- sponsors of the club were Mr. Ross Moss and Mrs. Judy Nolte.
