Theory Course Basic Instruction In Yearbook, Newspaper Given Held second period, the first year journalism class centers around development and use of techniques in the production of the Radar and Spur. Instruction in newspaper introduction includes proper headline techniques, how to write a feature or news story and good page make-up. Much the same knowledge is applied to learning about yearbook. Copy, layout and pictures are the essentials • and the first year students learn how to combine all three in producing a good annual. Class members also sold newspaper and yearbook ads and participated in class exercises and assign- ments.
