The Double R’s organization is one of the hardest working service groups on the campus. Beginning in August, the girls came to the school to practice each morning at 6:30 a.m. After school started, students caught glimpses of the RR’s in shorts and curlers march- ing across the parking lot of Nelson Field. Girls must have a B average to try out for the organiza- tion and must maintain this average throughout the year. The RR’s were very active this year due to the many games and the boost in spirit because of the winning Raider team. Besides being at all pep rallies and games, they were faithful in selling spirit ribbons and other spirit boosters. The girls helped Publications tremendously by selling football programs at all home games. Other activities included ushering at the ice cream social and sponsoring a banquet in January. Sponsor of the RR’s is Miss Paula McGee. THE COLORFUL RR's added a change to the predominant orange and white of Memorial Stadium at the Bellaire game. THE DOUBLE R's for 1967-68 include, bottom row from left, LaDonna Rushing, Denise Holman, Linda Sutton, Brenda Heins, Pam Watson, Karen Potter, Kathy Nichols, historian; Donna Jacobsen, treasurer; Sherri Dannclly, president; Miss Paula McGee, sponsor; Judy Kelly, vice-president; Cindy Headley, secretary; Nansi Growcock, Beverly Lucius, Judy Dayton, Cherry Smith, Gail Stiles, Marcella Mitchell; second row front left, Pam Hathcr- ley, Jeanette Spoede, Judy Baxter, Martha Lofley, Mary Pedro, Charlotte Porter, Sharon Roberts.
