’68 Ariel Staff Tries Again to Receive Top Rating Ariel staffers began on a happy note after hear- ing that the ’67 Ariel, Reagan’s student literary mag- azine, received a state superior rating from the Texas High School Press Association. Connected with this honor was the fact that this was the first magazine published and submitted for critique. The Ariel contains poetry, prose, and essays, all written by Reagan students. A large bulk of the literature, however, is written by students from cre- ative writing class, one of Reagans more liberal classes. A new technique of writing to music is practiced in the course. Sponsor of the Ariel staff is Mrs. Araminta Seal. ARIEL STAFFERS, Jeanie Sansom, Scott Williams (junior editor). Marvin Mooney (standing) and Herman Koch, sort illustrations and stories to be used to compile the '68 Ariel. MEMBERS OF THE ARIEL STAFF are, first row from left. Brian Koehler, Mrs. Araminta Seal, Sarah Rider (ed- itor), Jeanie Sansom, Jim McNutt, Marvin Mooney. Second row from left, Bob Whitehead, Karen Cain, Steve Willis. Scott Williams, James Holden. Pat Schneider, Her- man Koch, James Story. DECIDING ON A STORY to be published in the '68 Ariel is Mrs. Araminta Seal, sponsor. 63
