The Student Council serves Reagan in an effort to help it grow. The main duty of the Student Coun- cil is to represent the student body and to decide on policies which help determine the government of Reagan High. The Student Council has greatly helped Reagan achieve many goals. A 3M copy machine, for in- stance, was installed in the library' this year, which enabled students to make extra copies of such things as magazines and pictures. The Student Council also provided money to help pay for colored sports pic- tures used in the Spur. The teen jury' greatly bene- fited from the Student Council’s help of encouraging participation for the project; as a result, Reagan was greatly represented in the Teen Jury- throughout the year. The Student Council sponsored four successful dances, the first being the Howdy Dance, which welcomed all students. The Homecoming Dance was staged after the victory over Austin High. Next came the Valentine’s Dance at the beginning of the spring semester, and the Western Dance was given after the annual Western Day. CO SPONSOR OF THE STUDENT COUNCIL, Mr. Frank McDonald, emphatically discusses problems with Bill Greif, Alan Moore and Ken Robinson. 57
