RUNNING THE TRACK makes up the work-out for milers and Harrj' Wendt. Cross Country Work-Outs Begin Early in Year For ones not involved in football or basketball, track began quite early in the year with work-outs. After mid-term practice sessions became more regular with trackstcrs sprinting the loop,” pole vaulting, high jumping, hurdling, shot putting and throwing the discus. At regular spring track meets, the events which Reagan entered were the dashes—880 yard, 440 yard, 100 yard; the relays—mile, 880 yard, 440 yard; the mile run the hurdles, the pole vault, and the shot put-discus. A first for the track team was the employment of two coaches—Glen Swenson and Wallace Freytag. Th:s allowed each coach more time to devote to players and special events.
