ECHO Stott Writes Brief Novel On School Lite After long, heated meetings in May of 1959, the senior staff members chose the theme, A School Novelf' A new experience for the ECHO was the selection of co-editors in the key position. Another new feature which augmented the bookis appeal was a colored picture of the school. In the fall, after the subscriptions were totaled, a new high of 1190 books was recorded, exceed- ing last year's by 50. Now came the time for inspired picture sug- gestions, measuring, pasting, writing, editing, Left: Toletha Todd and Ann Neidermyer, co-editors, ask Miss Violet B. Wfeber, adviser, to autograph a finished product. Right: Drawn by Toletha Todd and painted by proofreading, ad infinitum. Padded covers were discarded, and a modern hard cover was de- signed. Louise jennings' sketches of bookworms to be used on the divider pages decorated the room of the adviser, Miss Violet B. VVeber. As time seemed to fly by, all the 146 pages were finally proofread. Staff members, weary from last-minute-rush preparations, soon found i'Our Hearts Were Young And Gayi' again - the 1960 yearbook was added to the chronicles placed in the McCaskey archives. Barbara Evans Llefti, ECHO campaign posters are ad- mircd by Nicholas Poneros and Linda Rostolsky, the two 'chest sellers on the staff.
