But to those in the knowf' its publication involves almost as much preparation as a blast-offi' at Cape Canaveral. As the Kcountdownv begins, the respective edi- tors assign news, sports, and feature stories to re- porters, who, in turn, get the necessary informa- tion and write their stories. While this is going on, the editors prepare layouts for each page. The next few steps include copyreading all material, rewriting some of it, writing headlines and subheads, and finally typing these on sepa- rate sheets. The printing is com- pleted, and the circulation staff readies the paper for distribution. Finally the blast-offi' arrives as the VIDETTE reaches the hands of subscribers. This entire procedure is supervised by Robert W. Broome, head of the English department. All work and no play is not the motto of the staff, however. During the year the juniors visit the Lancaster Newspapers, in June the entire staff participates in a banquet with the ECHO members.
