A School Novel Records A Time To Remember just as John Gunther tells of the United States in his book Inside U. S. A., the 1960 yearbook relates the inside story of life at McCaskey. The titles of books are used as a basis in telling this tale of life in a self- contained little world of like and unlike activities. By their presence at McCaskey, the students are the main characters in a book that took a year to complete. In most stories one character is usually outstand- ing. In this book Prof. Bert A. Bookworm comes to life as a master of ceremonies. Altho a bookworm is a symbol for a diligent reader, this little fellow seems to be more of an extrovert as he appears in his vari- ous disguises. He demonstrates his skill in music and sports, he proves his dramatic ability when he portrays teacher, senior with a mortar board, pert underelassman, and salesman. The school plays, glee-club presentations, assem- hlies, dances, class Work, undefeated football season, two-day testing program called Project Talent-all will make this year one students are not likely to forget.
