7-OZZWOZJ ik ii? Sir UR high school days are over. Ahead lies the unknown future, which will see, to a large extent, the fruits of our work here. Let us, therefore, examine the seed we have sown. The records, especially those of this, our last year at McCaskey, not only reveal a history of past events, but also render a definite indication of future achievements. lt is this we wish to pre- sent in this VIDETTE, 1946. A yearbook, however, is more than a hundred or so pages of pictures and data bound in a beautiful cover to form a cherished record of the best year of one's life. lt is the football team interrupting its practice for a few moments to cooperate with the Vidette photographer, it is the Glee Club posing for a shot of the Christmas program, it is the Girl Reserves shivering in the cold in front of the main entrance, it is a staff meeting where high school students begin to shoulder responsibilities. This is the Yearbook that cannot be put into print, this is the Yearbook that lives forever in our hearts and minds. But this is all past. The football team has laid aside its helmets. The bright red gowns of the Glee Club have been hung away. The senior Girl Reserve organizations have disbanded. The Yearbook has been published, it now stands as a VIDETTE, a sentinel that, though keeping watch over our record, looks toward the future into which we are moving. 4
