From the Pier of Bravo 25 at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, to the open stormy waters within Southeast Asia, the Supply Department has been performing its duty in a highly technical manner of maximum service. The Supply Department is under the direction of LT R. L. HAASE, SC, USN, who reported aboard just a .few short days before our departure for WestPac. Even the the burden of getting his family settled in a new home didnt stop him from plunging into his duties aboard. He is not only keeping pace with our ever changing Supply Department, bug he has benefitted the crew spiritually as he conducts Protestant Lay services and frequent Bible study classes while un erway. P Our second in command is LTJG L. E. JONES, SC, USNR and he seems proud of it. The storekeepers, headed by that coffee drinking chief, HANNAN, SKC, has been keeping pace with the Supply oath of: find that stock number, cross it, price it, and l'm sorry sir, we don't carry it. The technical branch of the SKS is Spare Parts, which officially is known as GET-lO's Junkyard. Main honcho, of course, is GEHO, SK3, aided by h1S private secretary KENDRICK, SK3. Secondary branch is the central storerooms run by KURTZ, SK3 and his muCl1 valued striker MC NEILL, SKSN. MC NEILL has unofiicially taken over the job completely, letting his boss take over the department's most essential position-a coffee runner. Up in the main office BACLAGAN, SKI is still ruling with his small bronze fist and his high squawking voice. Run- ing the main Optar with its numerous dealings, Benny Cactual nameb is doing an outstanding job of dragging the entire ship into bankruptcy. But the money doesn't mean a thing, if the part is needed, we get it. No need to menti011 who is taking care of the Commissary records in the office, the sampling SKI-GRABOWSKI, SK3. Taking delightful care of the requisition desk is the new third class, COOK, SK3. Along with his soft southern drawl, COOK also takes care of any other hot property that comes up-passageway outside the office. Heading the list of our indigestible stew burners is that one arm bandit conqueror MADDLE, CSC. His stalwart first classes, ROGERS and SEARLE, are always around the galley, much to the encouragement of the experienced watch captains WHALEN, CS3 and CURRY, CS3. The strikers HILLER, SN, MC KENZIE SN and SHICK, SN, are still burning the cole slaw, buttare getting better on cooking the three minute rolled oats. This information was kind- ly furnished by that M exotic-spices H kid himself, WHALEN CS3.
