W. D. ARNDT, is the largest, most diversified and 'certainly the most harassed division on the MC CAIN. Composed of four gangs made up of seven different rates, R Division has equipment, wiring, piping, or some other problem in every space on the ship. E Gang lead by I Q' A LUZADER, EMC is composed of fifteen electrician mates. Directly responsible to ensure that they drop the load Q' at the proper time, the seasoned veterans of the gang-G. W. PARMETER, R. L. JOHNSUNH hold frequent instruction for thetless eicperienced men. The proper time, of course, always seems to coincide Wlt meal time, just when the crew is getting ready for liberty, and most important-when the Commodore is trying to shave. A Gang, or more appropriately 'E the MOHLER Men , boasts three rates, but may be better segregated into four groups. Always eager to please, the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Group headed by T. J. MC DONNELL S't1'1Ve to better these conditions whenever possible. R. A. NEWELL and his Enginemen are charged with keeping the ship's boats in perfect operating order at all times- This of course means that the engine must fail at precisely at the halfway point when runnin liberty parties in to the - g beach. The distilling plant is maintained and operated by R Divisionis one and only M Evap Group Headed by R. D. LAIRD, the evap men insure an adequate supply of water for the crew to drink. Belonging to the MASS CMC CAIN Anti-Shower Societyj, this group is under oath to see to it that water for showers is promptly pumped to our bilges. The final group in 'I A Gang, the Machinery Repairmen, A. G. MARTINEZ in charge manipulate the lathe with great dexterity. , fTlLe ICh.Gang's most important function of is, course, the selection of the movies shown on board and the maintenanC6 O t , . . . . . . . . . . n e s ip s motion picture projectors.
