Main Office Aides The students here at John Marshall sometimes have free periods known as studyhalls. Since the studyhalls are often crowded, some students took it upon themselves to put their enthusiastic efforts and personalities to good use by working in the office as “Main Office Aides answering the switch boards, copying important material, and running major errands. Advisor Mrs. Gertrude Cole Main Office Aides — Kelly Shaver, Debbie Vargo, An-gelisa Pearson Not shown: Annette Popovich and Michaela Wilson. Attendance Row 1 — Sharon Mohney, Raysa Rodriguez, Shari Clark, Tammy Kelly, Laurie Zu-koski, Marcie Calhoun. The “Attendance Aides here at John Marshall experienced a change of pace this year. They began the school year with Mrs. Betsy Gibbons. Then at the end of October, a new attendance secretary, Mrs. Shirley Hug-ley, came from Jamison. The Attendance Aides have a big responsibility. Everyday, they must keep track of all absences and tardies as well as excused absences and call-ins from parents. This year the attendance at John Marshall has increased. Up With People Up With People wos founded by J. Honkton Belk in the mid 1960's to provide o positive chonnel for the idealism and energy he sow evidenced in students around the world. This year certain students from JMH were poired with members to tour our build ng. All students and teachers got the chonce to watch the dynamic, contemporary production of the Up With People cost. From the nostalgic hits of yesterday to todoy's contemporary sounds, the colorful pageantry of the Up With People show has music for everyone's ears. Up With People maintains five international casts, each composed of approximately 135 students ond staff members from throughout the world. These costs represent 20 countries and 40 stotes. Each cost travels approximately 32,000 miles visiting 80-90 towns and cities An important part of Up With People's educational and cultural exchange is the hospitolity provided to the students in each community by local host families. Host families provide lodging and some meals and on important opportunity for the students to participate in and learn about their lifestyles and the rich cultural diversity of the wodd.
