You think about killing that dude that's standing over you! Kenny — Executing the plays and knowing the assignments is important. You think about football ... period. How far do you plan to take football? Mike — I plan to go to college and play in the NFL. Jerome — It's everybody's dream to play in the NFL. That is DEFINITELY mine. Jerome — It was a great thrill because we could finally say that John Marshall is a winner. Kenny — This season was a great accomplishment and a great improvement — playwise and achievement wise. Do you guys have any last minute comments? Mike — I strongly advise anyone who ever wanted to play football to go out for the team. Kenny — This was definitely a once in a lifetime thrill. Although this year's team was divided into Varsity and Junior Varsity, both teams worked together as one. Varsity players were always willing to help the new J.V. team. The volleyball season began slowly for the Lady Lawyers but they were not discouraged. Their determination to succeed led to Marshall's first victory games against West Tech, Jane Adams, Berea, Rhodes, East Tech, and East High. Unfortunately, the ladies were unable to maintain this winning streak. They were defeated by Lincoln-West, Kennedy, John Adams, Collinwood, South, and Warrensville. As we regretfully bring this chapter of our lives to a close, bear in mind this is not an ending, but a beginning. Rejoice, success is in our grasp and The world is ours to conquer. Before we take on the challenge of this new aspect of our lives, let us acknowledge the outstanding efforts of the JMH faculty and administration who have provided us with guidance, knowledge, and compassion. These qualities will enhance our community. As we continue life, we shall forever cherish all the memories we shared together, whether they were good or bad times. Remember they were our times . Being Senior Class President has been a rewarding experience for me. While representing the class of 1987, I hope that I have demonstrated a positive attitude and provided leadership for the entire student body. I have listened to your views and made my decisions accordingly. I am confident a good example has been set for the future class president and others to follow to ensure a successful year. I want to thank each of you for your support throughout the year, and I wish you all success in the future. To reach out for another is to risk involvement To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self. To place your ideas, your dreams before the crowd is to risk their loss. To love is to risk not being loved in return. To live is to risk dying. To hope is to risk despair. To try is to risk failure. But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. The person who risks nothing does nothing, has nothing, is nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn, feel, grow, love ... live. Chained by his certitides. he is a slave; he has forfeited freedom. Only a person who risks is free.
