Topsy- AJni High School Years Our High School years have been reminiscent of a ride on the Gemini at Cedar Point. The topsy-turvy time spent at JMH will always have a place in our hearts. Among the oddities that we have gone through . . . having, after three years an almost normal school year ... the wearing of our clothes-tearing I.D.’s ... the first-year tradition of having a basketball homecoming . . . our color coded lunch tags which were needed to eat our artificially colored food ... our version of the Gestapo masquerading as security guards and teachers ... our beloved math teacher trying to convince us of the importance of taking calculus when we are going to be ditch diggers . . . living through the longest teachers' strike in history ... but better still, living through 11 weeks of soap operas . . . having the unique distinction of being counted as either black or other.. . sweating through summer classes and watching as the temperature rose, the clothes disappear . . . but most of all living through smelling the many and varied experiments which the Chemistry I class failed with. But through all the topsy-turvy events that have happened during our high school years, we have all shared in a little bit of humor which has made our stay here most enjoyable.
