LIBRARIANS GUIDANCE. LIBRARY. ENGLISH The essence of ihe Guidance and Counseling Services Office is oriented to ihe individual student and his individual needs Principally, the aim of the Guidance Counselors is to help the students organize their interests and aptitudes into challenging and attainable educational and vocational goals. This task embraces such basic functions as testing, career counseling, course selection counseling and personal counseling, which should lead to a diploma and cither military service, college admission, or vocational job placement. Each year more students and teachers make use of our library. This year we arc fortunate in having a Marshall graduate as Technician for our Audio Visual Material and equipment. Gradually we hope to become a production center as well as a distribution point for that area of service to the school. Our up-to-date bulletin board, filled with personal school news alout students, teams, and events attracts constant viewing. However, to most Marshalliles reading and study still continues to bt the primary function of our library. John Marshall's English Department, serving all interest and ability levels, offers students a wide variety of courses from extended studies on World. American and English literature, to short, in depth views of life and literature available as semester courses. Academic Challenge teams have consistently brought honors to John Marshall In 1975.
