The l96l-62 oflicers: Barb Else, President, Sue Sauer, Vice- President, Terry Mayer, Secretary-Treasurer. The Pep Club is designed to promote good sportsmanshi and school spirit. It has always been an effective means of put ting forth the desired outcome. Some of their activities include planning the pep tests, making publicity posters, and sellin shakers and booster buttons. R pins are awarded to thos seniors who have earned the required number of points throug active participation. PEP CLUB The basketball highlight of the year was the game between the faculty and the B-squad. it .rx if-1 M' -0. 1iA w1 - 5 T V L., X This inattentive chess player can obviously afford to take his mind oft the game now and then CHESS CLUB The game of chess provides a challenging and interesting outlet tor the club members. They meet once a week to - you guessed it - play chess. Their aims are to learn and enjoy the game of chess and to teach it to new members. The club is always looking for new people who are interested in the game. Mr. Schultz is advisor to the group. Club members find that concentration is an essential element in this game of thought. 57

This was a common sight during the basketball season - the congregated AMPC making a lot of noise for the benefit of school spirit. The All Male Pep Club is a new organization with good student backing. Mike Rounds and John Henderson actually started it by getting a bunch of guys together at a basket- ball game to promote school spirit. lt has grown and accomplished it original purpose. Club members think it has good prospects: With faculty supervision and good organiza- tion, it can continue to step up school spirit. l i A.M.P.C. l The featured pep fest of the year saw AMPC mem- bers donning cheerleaders' outfits and demon- strating to the student body their method of upping school spirit.
