The faculty, with the help of Mr. Burrington, the advisor, selects the candidates for membership on the basis of scholarship, ability in leadership, service, and character. The induction ceremony is held before Easter, and the members enioy a picnic at the end ot the year. 143

Each year, two students from JM, a girl and a boy, are selected to attend the Girls' and Boys' State held for a week in the Twin Cities. Here they can better acquaint them- selves with the processes of government and acquire an understanding of what they, as teenagers, can do for the government.
