It is from these past achievements that we find' inspiration for the future. We realize that pride and self-assurance are not to be confused. So, we face tlfe future not with conceit but with enthusiasm. Looking forward to new horizons,yWe find Willingness and the desire to suc- ceed serving as tools assisting in the construction of a better life for each of us. John Marshall High School John Marshall Junior-Senior High School, that modern structure located on University Avenue in Oklahoma City is the scene of continual progress in the field of education. The building is one of the educational centers for northwest Oklahoma City. In this school year of 1961-62, approximately 2600 students crowd into the halls of the modern- istic structure made of steel, concrete, brick and glass. Taught by a 99 member faculty, these stu- dents spend well over two million hours in the classroom each year. Over half of the instructors have lVIaster's Degrees. The high school is a member of the North Central Association which demands high educa- tional qualifications for continuing membership. Not far from this three million dollar building are Edgernere Theater, scene of musical highlights throughout the summer season, the Cowboy Hall Of Fame and Oklahoma City University. On the campus are a football practice field, baseball field, and a girls' and boys, gymnasium. Achievement is the aim of the school's faculty and students. Achievement in academic areas, on the playing fields and in one's personal life. We take aim at achievement as surely as the space scientists aim toward the ultimate conquering of outer space.
