Library Lends Learning John Marshallis library shelves are filled with biographies, fiction, nonfiction, classics, American literature, foreign lit- erature, etc. There are books and magazines for vocational references, term themes, and science projects. Whenever a student seeks quiet and soli- tude he will always be assured of finding it in the school library. Soft music sets an atmosphere for thought and learning. Without the considerate help of Miss Dierdoff, Mrs. Pryse, and the library aides, students would find the rows of books a baffling puzzlement. Other library aids are the IBM check out machines, card files, and the authors indexes. E Such festive mingling is a rare occurrence in the school library, where a quiet, studious mood is usually maintained. Using the past as a magnifying glass, the present clears and is better understood, the future brightens, and students are awed and at the same time spurred on by the magnitude of the questioning future. By looking back, students gain an appreciative under- standing of their heritage and the courage to face the future abreast. Studying the past and present gives one foresight. Oklahoma history, civics, world and American his- tory, world and social problems and psychology sup- ply the much needed fuel for this foresight.
