THIS l96l edition of the John Marshall Bear Tracks could not have been satisfactorily com- piled without the co-operation and encouragement of our large, capable faculty and its efficient well trained administration. Because of their generous co-operation and understanding in the making of pictures and giving material for copy, as well as a deep appreciation of the fine job being done by ad- ministration and faculty in making possible the ac- ademic progress which is so prevalent in John Marshall, and because of the many after-hours of personal counseling and guidance given each of his or her students, the yearbook staff dedicotes this book to John Marshall's Principal, Mr. Robert Cheney and his capable staff. Mr. Cheney came to John Marshall from Classen High School, He is now in his fourteenth year of service in Oklahoma City schools having been at Roosevelt and Classen before coming to John Marshall. He is a member of the Uni- tarian church and lives an active life in interest in young people. The weather is never too bad or his schedule too full for Mr. Cheney to give his smiling personal support to activities of the school. Athletic events, club programs, plays, committee meetings all have the encouragement of his attendance. Every member of the faculty and student body in the school is proud of the quiet dignity of John Mar- shall's principal.

He has served as counselor for the past two years and slipped easily into the added responsibilities as assistant principal. Mr. Berry has spent many years as a dedicated worker with young people in church, civic and school circles. Roblyer is certainly one of the busiest people in John Marshall, In this, his first year as assistant principal, he has brought his years of previous train- ing and experience in other schools and has made himself indispensable. His ready interpretation of school policy, his high principles and sense of fair play, added to an uncanny ability to remember names, faces, and facts, make him ideal for the office he so capably fills. Mr. Robyler has a wife, Janice and three sons Gene, Richard, and Gary.
