In Oklahoma City the members of the Board of Education are elected by the people. Thus, the actual con- trol of the schools rests with the voters. Under the careful guidance of a dedicated superintendent, Dr. J. Chester Swanson, our Board of Education has kept citizens of Oklahoma City in- formed of the great work that is being done toward securing the best qualified personnel, procuring most up-to-date educational material, build- ing new buildings, repairing and maintaining those already in existence. Our growth as city and schools is rapidly increasing. We at John Marshall are proud indeed, to he one of the finest of a splendid list of good schools.
