This year book has been assembled and published to perpetuate your memories at John Marshall High School. May the Bear Tracks always be visible and continue Through the years to be a reminder of the many happy days spent in our school. This most excellent book should be an inspiration to those who cherish and hold dear the many friendships created with students and teachers. Your teachers are your best friends. You will find excellent characters, activities, and scholarship depicted in this book which are the aims and goals of our school. It has been an inspiration for me to work with the finest group of students and teachers any- where. HARRY WEST Principal VICE-PRINCIPAL Dear Students, The incidents of your life will be quite similar. All things tend to happen to all of us. You will know misfortune, grief, and despair, but you will know also, I hope, your full measure of ioy and happiness. Love and loss, pleasure and misery will touch all of your lives to some extent. That these things will come is not so important, as your reaction to them. i The measure ot a man is how he accepts the hand that life deals him, and what he makes of it. I hope that while students at John Marshall, you learn that defeat can serve as well as victory to enrich us if it is rightly used. If you have learned to accept lite as it comes and make the best of it, then you are adequately prepared to meet any challenge that life may present. LOS COMPANEROS LEALES MOTTO COLORS Saber es Poder Rojo, Verde, y Blanco Our club was organized for the further enjoyment of the Spanish Language. We feel that it is essential for one to know the languages, customs, and people of his neighboring countries to balance his education. Los Companeros Leales, which means The Loyal Companions, was chosen by the members for the club name. Saber es Poder, our motto, means knowledge is power. Our club colors are red, green, and white, the dominant colors in many of the flags of our Latin American neighbors. Connie Sue Williamson was elected President of our Club, Steve Johnston, Vice President, Mary Ann Pendergraph, Secretary, and Sandra Sherman, Treasurer. Miss Stella Edmiston is the club sponsor. l L PEP CLUB J , .Q -l ' ,Y 54440 fr i g cm, .
